Art Club

Members create art using various media that promote creative expression. They meet on the 4th Thursday of each month in Mrs. Malone's classroom.

CSI Team

The purpose of the CSI Team is to allow students the ability to display the skills learned during the entire Criminal Justice curriculum and compete against other programs in the region. There are not regular meeting times. Most participants have taken Forensics and merely practice their skills the week before the competition that occurs in November of each school year.

Drama Club

Future Business Leaders of America

The FBLA is a service and leadership organization that is dedicated to creating opportunities and teaching skills vital to success in not only the business world, but the real world as well.

The FCA promotes Christian attitudes among athletes.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America

FCCLA is a nonprofit, national career and technical student organization for young men and women interested in family and consumer sciences education in public and private schools through grade twelve. Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and addresses important personal, family, work and societal issues through family and                 consumer sciences education.

Future Farmers of America

The FFA promotes an appreciation and understanding of agriculture.  Members of this group have planted most of the flowers and shrubs on our campus.

Health Occupation Students of America

The HOSA club (Health Occupation Students of America) is a national vocational student organization, focusing on the enrichment and delivery of quality health care to all people.  Members are students who are taking or have taken a Health Science Class while they are attending EHS.  It is a wonderful opportunity to compete in Health Science Competitions at the Regional, State, and National level.  The club hosts two blood drives each year as a Community Service Outreach Project.  We have the Fall Blood Drive on the “open football game Friday day” during Football Season and we try to have the Spring Fall Blood Drive on the last available Friday in April, before testing.  We are known for our sale of roses around Valentine’s Day as a fundraiser.  The HOSA club is a wonderful way to make friends with fellow students who are considering a career in the field of health care. 

What is HOSA? 
HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Technology Education Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA's goal is to encourage all health occupations instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSTE-HOSA Partnership.

What does it provide? 
HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for secondary, post secondary, adult, and collegiate students enrolled in HSTE programs. HOSA is 100% health care!

HOSA Mission Statement 
The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science technology education students, therefore, helping students to meet the needs of the health care community.

Japanese Club

The Japanese Club consists of students with an interest in anime, manga, and Japanese culture as a whole. It will meet weekly on Thursday. Meetings will consist of watching school-approved anime, discussing manga, special guest presentations, learning to speak Japanese, and doing crafts.

Key Club

A community service club that helps kids in our community and beyond. Our focus is not only on the community, but on those in need. The first Key Club formed in 1925 in Sacramento, California with 11 charter members. Today, Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students in the world. It has more than 250,000 members in 5,000 clubs in 30 countries. Our club demonstrates the desire to serve others and make a lasting impact on our community. Key club is the “teenage” version of Kiwanis club. Key CLub is just one part of the Kiwanis family! The elementary communty service clubs are called K-Kids, the middle school community service clubs are called Builders Clubs, and the community service club for college is called Circle-K.

LGBT Club

LGBT club at EHS seeks to increase awareness of and tolerance for the LGBT community. The club also seeks to provide a place for discussion and fellowship for all who have an interest in issues affecting LGBT persons locally, nationally, and globally.

Mountain Club

The Mountain Club is for students wanting to learn about outdoor recreation, fitness, safety, first aid, and proper gear. The goal of the Mountain Club is to provide an opportunity for students to participate in a variety of activities associated with the mountains of East Tennessee such as hiking, skiing and white water rafting.

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) officially established NHS in 1921 and continues to support the organization today.  Per the national guidelines and the EHS club charter (last amended, April 2017), candidates for NHS application must be juniors or seniors with a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a college preparatory or honors track.  Applications are considered by the faculty council comprised of teachers and staff from various departments. Those students exhibiting the required service, leadership, and character traits and approved by the faculty council are invited to be members.  This application and induction process occurs each year in September-October of the fall semester.    

National Honor Society is a privilege, not a right.  To maintain good standing, members must continue to demonstrate service, leadership, and character.  Members must also complete other duties as required.  Please note that national guidelines require both a chapter service project and an individual service project each semester.  The chapter service project will be determined by adviser with member input; individual service projects should reflect your particular talents and interests.

Power Lifting Club

Powerlifting is a strength sport that consists of three attempts at maximal weight on three lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift. Powerlifting evolved from a sport known as "odd lifts", which followed the same three-attempt format but used a wider variety of events, akin to strongman competition. Eventually odd lifts became standardized to the current three. These may be performed equipped or un-equipped (un-equipped is typically referred to as 'raw' lifting). Equipment can include a suit for the squat and deadlift, and supportive shirts for bench press.

            The Elizabethton High School powerlifting team has been in existence since 2009. During that time we have had numerous national and state champions in the USAPL or APF national and state level meets. We also have competed in several local events including the Hampton High School Bench Press and Deadlifting Championships in which the EHS girls have won every single year we have entered and the EHS boys team has won many individual accolades including the “Bob Peoples” award, which is arguably the most prestigious strength award in our community.

Skills USA

Skills USA is a combination of various career/technical education (CTE) skills.  Students will meet on a regular basis to discuss and work together addressing different components of the CTE program at EHS.

Spanish

The Spanish Club is a service and social organization providing students with public service opportunities and interaction with native speakers and elementary students.

 

Top Gun Aviators Club

The Top Gun Club is a club that meets after school on a regular basis to discover aviation through a series of discussions, hands-on activities, and tours of different facilities. The primary objective is to encourage students to remain drug free, as well as helping them to discover different careers they can take for achieving their life goals. During the school year, the CTSO will participate in many different trips and activities, some of which include, but are not limited to, tours of the Elizabethton Municipal Airport, Edwards and Associates in Piney Flats, the United Company’s hangar at Tri-Cities Regional Airport and the ATC tower at Tri-Cities Regional Airport.
