TN Graduation Requirements

TN High School Diploma Project

Civics Assessment

Per state law (T.C.A. § 49-6-408A), students must participate in the United States citizenship and immigration test during the student’s high school career. All public high school students, including the class of 2017, are expected to participate in the civics test; however, a passing grade is not a requirement for graduation. Schools in which all seniors earning a regular diploma also earn a passing grade (70 percent or higher) on the U.S. civics test will be recognized by the department as a U.S. Civics All-Star School. For more information from the state, click here. For more information about the test and its administration at EHS, contact EHS teacher Joe Diaz.
